The Hunter of the Dawn

A chilly wind brushed the brown leaves, and they whisked through the pine trees. It was Moonhigh, and no cats were out at this bitter weather- apart from one young warrior.
This cat was hunting for her clan, she was a young warrior and so the apprentice duties still clouded her mind, she would go out early for hunting, and even collect moss sometimes.
The white she-cat stiffened as she scented something, rabbit! She slipped into the Hunter's Crouch- which was used for hunting, she jumped over the bush and began chasing the rabbit, which was surprised by the cat. However, somethingf russled in front of her, and the black tom killed the rabbit.
“Thank you, sweetheart,” He purred, with a evil glare, “Nice prey for me. I'm The Hunter of the Dawn, by the way. Just call me Dawn, gotta go.”
“Wait!” She meowed, “You're stealing prey!”

Meanwhile, Flareshadow, Windwalker, and Scorchpaw and some others were on a patrol; a Hunting Patrol.
"I can't scent anything, it's too rainy and foggy," Scorchpaw complained, "Too damp."

"Shall I circle above to see any prey?", Wingpaw asked the older warriors, his dark wings stretching. "I could try to catch some, also."

"I don't think it would support your weight yet, I think you should try when you are a warrior." Windwalker meowed.

"But I can lift myself up the tree if I be careful. C'mon, Windwalker, pleaaassssseeeee?", Wingpaw begged.

Just as Windwalker was about to reply, a bush ahead moved.
"Well, you can't now." Flareshadow meowed,
"If this is an intruder, and it puts up a fight, use your wings for a shield or something like that." Windwalker whispered into Windpaw's ear.

(Who is Wingpaw's mentor? Windwalker could be her mentor.)

"Got it, Windwalker.", Wingpaw nodded, lowering to the ground. His wings were flat to his flank, blending in with the apprentice's fur.

It was an intruder, and it crept from the bushes. It looked like a silhouette against the bushed, and his fangs where shown.
"Give me your prey," The black cat growled, "Or else I fight!"
Windwalker looked at the Leader of the patrol, and then glanced at Flareshadow, who exchanged a clueless gaze.

"No way!", Wingpaw blurted out without thinking. The tom turned red, realising that he spoke out of turn.

Flareshadow looked at the tom definatly, "We'll give you our prey once you get off our territory," he said, blinking.

"We will?", the apprentice whispered to his mentor, "Why? We should just run him out of here!"

"He's juts saying that to get him out of here." Windwalker whispered.

The black cats nodded.

"Right.", Wingpaw nodded, turning back to the black cat. "Shall we lead you toward the border?"

"Obuiously," the black tom meowed. "Or else how are you going to give the prey to me? Seesh, don't you cats train your apprentices properally?"
Windwalker nodded, and then lead the cat away from the border. A dappled small she-cat wss ahead.
"Ahh, my servant is here." The tom meowed, as the she-cat looked in terror at him, she was shaking in the undergrowth as the black tom had entered.

"We need to help her!", Wingpaw mewed, seeing the she-cat, "That black cat might hurt her---or worse!"

Windwalker did not know if the she-cat heard him. But she did not show a sign of hearing it either.

"C'mon!", Wingpaw continued, launching forward. He faced the black tom, hissing and spitting. "Leave her alone!"

The black cat dodged and pinned down the nearest cat, "Give me the prey," the tome growled. "NOW!"
"Never!" Flareshadow growled, underneath the tom's claws. As a result, the claws dug deeper, and the cat fled.

Wingpaw lowered himself to the ground, fur fluffed out. He wasn't sure what to do. Run like Flareshadow? Fight with Windwalker? Or help the she-cat? He glanced over at his mentor, hoping for some sort of instruction.

"The danger is over, the cat has fled, so as that little she-cat." Windwalker meowed.
"Cats, gather 'round." Flareshadow meowed. "That cat is called Hunter of the Dawn, or Dawn for short, we must tell Singedstar about this!"

"Singedstar, I have to tell you something, important." Frostclover meowed, blindly staring into the darkness of Singedstar's den.

"Come in...", a raspy voice replied through the darkness. The once-regal and strong tom was now crouched on the floor, his small body flattened to the ground. All the life seemed to be sucked out of his eyes, and everybody knew at some point, if it was from a battle or sickness, it wouldn't be long before he joined the ranks of StarClan.. forever.

"What is it you want?", he snapped, his tired eyes still blurry from slumber. "It better be important."

"Singedstar! Are you OK?" Frostclover seemed stupid by not knowing about Singedstar's current condition. "You need to see the medicine cat! But my news... It's about an intruder who's stealing our prey!"

(I know, Flareshadow, a former medicine cat, could know a cure, and a few cats would go on a quest, and if you want to kill off Singedstar, as it seems, they could be too late, or if you want Singedstar to live, it would gradually work!)
